Who will benefit from this course?
a) Graduate engineers currently being trained under HKIE Scheme ‘A’ (Civil) Training Scheme;
b) Engineering Supervisors as well as Training Tutors who are not yet familiar with the training
scheme; and
c) Engineers who are not under HKIE Training Scheme ‘A’ (Civil) but plan for Professional
Assessment to become HKIE Corporate Member (Civil) through the General Experience Route.
Course objectives:
All trainees under HKIE Graduate Training Scheme ‘A’ (Civil) need to meet each and every
training objective as contained in their ‘Record of Objectives’ within their training period
normally set at 3 years. Trainees who have fully met the training objectives stand much higher
chance of passing their Professional Assessment and are ready to become professional
engineers. The main objective of the course is to help trainees to understand what the
Common Core and Core Objectives are all about and how they can be met. The course will
also help civil engineers who are not under Scheme ‘A’ training to work their way through to
Professional Assessment.
